Work
These are some things I worked on in college. Some are individual works, while others are group efforts.
Place Your Bets
This paper was written for a historical writing class in college. I am a huge fan of baseball so I figured why not write it on the biggest scandal in baseball history (and no, I’m not talking about the size of Barry Bonds’ head). I am of course talking about the Black Sox Scandal where the Chicago White Sox threw the World Series in 1919.
Hip Hop Industry
This paper, titled “Tryin’ to Make a Dollar out of Fifteen Cent: The Emergence of Hip Hop as an Industry” was written for a Business History class. It focuses on the creation of an industry of the hip hop culture. It uses the legendary Def Jam Records as a case study.
Mfecane
This was a group project examining the effects of the Mfecane in southern Africa.
Propaganda Webquest
This is a Webquest for students to investigate the history of Propaganda.
Ain’t No Makin’ It
This presentation summarized the book Ain’t No Makin’ It by Jay MacLeod. It looks at two groups of teens in a low income neighborhood and what becomes of their aspirations.
Mesoamerican Ball Game
This is a brief paper talking about the ball game played all throughout the south-western US and Mesoamerica. The paper discusses it’s origins and how it is still played today in some areas. Included are pictures and diagrams of the courts.
